Also known as the Eyed Tiger Moth. H. scribonia is a species of moth in the family Arctiidae (arctiid moths) that is found in the Southern/Eastern United States and Mexico. As their name suggests they are fairly big for a moth with a wingspan of 3 in long, the name leopard comes from the blotchy black and white patterns on their wings which look similar to a snow leopard. this species is also dimorphic as males have a small yellow line on their sides. like most moths they are nocturnal don’t fly around before night.
